And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. (Colossians 3:17)
As simple as the instruction in our main verse appears, it’s very important that we live by it.
The Name of Jesus Christ, is the most powerful Name and everything comes under the authority of this name. Philippians 2:10 says: “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth”. Our Lord Jesus, has the Lordship over everything, when you declare His name over your day, over your works, over your food, over your movements, over your business, over your night, over everything you do; theirs a difference in your life. You prevail and prevail everytime and in everything.
However, it’s important that you use this name with understanding. A name depicts “authority” or “character”. The Greek word for name is “onomah.” So when you command something to happen in the Name of Jesus, you’re actually speaking or acting in the authority or character of Jesus. That’s the power of attorney Christ has given us. The Bible says, “there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
The Name of Jesus, has been given to you as a gift. Use that Name today with understanding to declare victory of all your faith preparations and plans, it will produce results for you.
