Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. (Daniel 6:3 NIV)
To distinguish means to do something very well or in a way that deserves special recognition. Our main verse shows us that Daniel distinguished himself from others through the excellent spirit in him. That is what caused him to shine above others.
The life which you have in you, as a Christian is superior and thus, gives you the ability to distinguish yourself from others around you, provided you are conscious of this reality.
If you are going to shine, you must distinguish yourself with this divine life you have in you. You can’t live an ordinary life and expect extraordinary result. Be guided by the Spirit of God in you, dig deep into the Word of God, meditate on it, go out and preach the Gospel, win souls and heal the sick. You are called for this extraordinary distinguished life. Don’t sit idle with the gift of God in you. If you desire to live the distinguished life, you must be ready to do things God way. Refuse to follow the norms set by this world, and fly high as you stand strong in the Lord.
Prayer:
Precious Father, I thank you for making me a distinguished person by the power of your Spirit. I live my life being guided by your Spirit. I shine in every thing I do because I lavishly use the gift of God in me, without fear or excuse. I refuse to follow the norms set by this world, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
