Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. ( 2 Timothy 2:15)
A lot of Christians boast about reading the Bible a number of times. However, there knowledge of the scriptures and, the fruits of faith in their life, often doesn’t add up to their claim. Why is it so? Are they lying ? Not necessarily. The fact is, they haven’t been studying the scriptures, rather, they have just been speed reading the Bible like any other worldly story book.
The right way of studying the Word of God is to give it time and undivided attention. You don’t study the Word of God as a leisure activity. You study the Word to know the monarch of the universe, who has given you the privilege to be His child. You study the Word, to know who He has made you in Christ. It’s a serious business, thus, you can never take the time of studying the scriptures casually. It’s not something you do in your free time, it’s something for which you take out definite time.
Give more attention to your scripture study time. Don’t study on the run; instead, be settled when you study the scriptures, that way you’ll get more from what you study. Study the same portion again and again, until you extract the ‘rhema’ out of it.
When you study the scriptures like this, your life and ministry will have a whole new glorious level. Glory be to God!
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for teaching me the right way to study the scriptures. I yield myself to be inspired, taught, educated and trained by the Word of God. I refuse to be distracted by any element of this world and give myself wholly to the Word of God, in Jesus precious name. Amen!
