And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. (Mark 1:41)

Compassion is a very important attribute of Christian living. Unless your heart has compassion for the people in your world, who are still under the curse of condemnation and death, you will never make any genuine effort to win them to Christ.

Compassion is a compelling force or motivation to take away the pains of another, not out of pity, but love. God demonstrated compassion when, out of love, He gave His Son, Jesus to die for the sins of the world (ref. John 3:16).

Compassion is a force that activates your wisdom to act on being an answer to the cry of men in this world. That’s who Jesus was and is, He is the answer to the cry of men, and that’s exactly what He has made you. But, until you let the compassion fill your heart you can never function as that answer.

One of the ways to function with compassion is to recognise His compassion towards you. Our God is gracious and kind, compassionate and full of mercy. In Psalm 78:38, the scripture doesn’t just say He has compassion, but that He’s full of it. That’s our God and that’s what He has empowered you to be like, in Christ Jesus. Take your place as a compassionate child of God and make this world a better place, with the love of God.

Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for your love which is shed abroad in my heart. I’m full of compassion. I’m an answer to the cry of men of this world. I take my position to make this world a better place through compassion, in Jesus mighty Name. Amen!
