Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever (Psalms 23:6)

The above verse is used as a benediction in Churches around the world, but it’s not just a good thing to say at the end of service, it’s our reality and privilege in Christ Jesus. Goodness and mercy follow us everywhere we go.

Goodness in our main verse comes from the Hebrew word “tobe”, which means anything that is good, rich, excellent and valuable in estimation. Whereas, mercy comes from the Hebrew Word “chesed”, which means kindness and faithfulness.

In our lives, the goodness and mercy of God always follow us, no matter where we go and no matter what we do. But, it’s important that we go first because it will follow us. And going means, being on His purpose of winning the world, in every endeavor of our lives. That is why, it’s not a coincidence when you see things working out for us wherever we go, it’s not a coincidence that evil which affects everyone around us doesn’t even touch us, neither is it a coincidence that everything we involve ourselves in, prospers; it is the result of the goodness and mercy which follow us. Acknowledge it, confess it and live in the consciousness of it; because it is a glorious privilege God has given to us, his children.

Prayer:
Precious Father, I thank you for the glorious privilege of being called into the life of a king. Goodness and mercy follow me everywhere and in everything. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, I have a goodly heritage. Thank you, Father, for making me your glory, in Jesus Name. Amen!
