And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. (Luke 10:27)
A person’s personality and character are controlled by the soul of the person. The soul controls body and senses, because it is the house of the mind of a person. That is why is it is so important to renew our mind with the Word of God and control it through the Spirit of God. And it is possible for every Christian, that’s why the Word commands us in Romans 12:2: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
If a person after being born again, does not renew his or her mind by the Word of God, their mind can still take them towards hell. That’s why it’s so important for you as a child of God, to take possession of your mind and control it through the Word of God.
Renew your mind with the Word of God. Don’t let your mind control you. Live from your spirit. Don’t accept the wrong thoughts. Don’t dwell on wrong ideas. Consciously subdue thoughts that demean you, thoughts that are contrary to your nature, heritage, and identity in Christ. Live from the Spirit. Command every such thought to cease in the Name of Jesus.
You are a Spirit being, and it’s the Spirit of God that controls you. Remind yourself of this reality, speak the Word of God with boldness. You’ve got to take control of your mind and your thoughts. Transform your life from glory to glory through the management of your mind.
Prayer:
Precious Father, I thank you for teaching me how to manage my mind. I take possession of my mind by renewing it through the Word of God. I live from the Spirit, and unleash the power of my mind to live in the glory of God, in Jesus Name. Amen!
