By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name (Hebrews 13:15)
In Christ Jesus, God has made us His royal priests. One of the most important work which a royal priest has, is to minister to God by offering sacrifices. Spiritually we are expected to do the same. In the Old Testament, they slew animals and offered them as physical sacrifices. Christ has lifted us from that carnal level and has brought us into the spiritual priesthood of God. There is a spiritual form of sacrifice which is far greater than the carnal sacrifices. The words of appreciation, affirmations and testimonies which we speak to God are the forms of spiritual sacrifices. They are spiritual because they are done through the agency of the Holy Spirit. Those who are not born again in Christ Jesus are not equipped with the Holy Spirit to offer spiritual sacrifices to God.
Serving God by offering spiritual sacrifices is one of the most important thing which a child of God has in his life. This has a great blessing and a lot of benefits. Firstly, it is an honor and a privilege that we are chosen by God for Himself and He receives and accepts our service. By consistently offering spiritual sacrifices, we fulfill the purpose of our life and therefore ensure complete fulfillment to our lives. Every confession and every word of appreciation or thanks giving which we utter out of our mouth is delivered by the Holy Spirit unto God and God gives us more grace and grants us the abundance of ability to do much more in life.
Practice to appreciate God at all times of your life. Tell Him that He is beautiful and miraculous in your life. His beauty and miracles will just keep increasing in your life as you will continually offer Him sacrifices of praise and thanks giving.
Prayer:
Father I thank you for giving me the insight of this spiritual inheritance. It is my inheritance that I am a royal high priest in Christ Jesus and the privilege of offering sacrifices is given to my portion. Father, you are so wonderful in my life, so beautiful in my life. In you I have everything and with you I can do everything. Thank you that you have made my life so beautiful and fulfilled. Glory!
