Send us around the world with the news of your saving power and your eternal plan for all mankind. (Psalms 67:2)
God sent His only Son to earth and made Him a soul winner. Before Jesus died on the cross to fulfill His calling, He sought souls and did the work of reconciliation. The bibles says in 2 Corinthians 5:19: “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”
While on earth, there may be many wonderful and noble professions you may be a part of. However, we need to recognize that our existence here is just a temporary phase when compared to our eternal life in Christ. While we may be occupied with many noble works, great jobs, and wonderful businesses, we must remember that soul-winning is the only thing that will count after we have completed our time on earth.
Soul winning means reaching out to the people in your world, within your sphere of contact, and sharing God’s plan, His love, and His saving power through the gospel of Jesus Christ. You lead them to Christ, reconcile them to God, and secure their eternal future. This is exactly what the people of the Old Testament desired to do, as we see in our main verse, Psalm 67:2. During that time, Jesus had not yet come, and they did not have a message that could save people. They were only in a covenant with God, following the laws. But, the grace of God has been lavished upon our generation. We can proclaim the gospel, lead people to Christ, make them acquainted with the love of God, and see their souls saved. Soul winning means rescuing souls from the grip of the devil and bringing them into the eternal light of God.
All you need to do is be prayerful and follow the guidance of the Spirit. Take advantage of every opportunity that God brings to you. You don’t need to wait to see your miracle; you can get started right where you are. Even if it is the first day you’ve been born again, you can still share the testimony of how good and great you felt after receiving the Holy Spirit into your life. There is something truly exciting about doing this. You may never experience the happiness and joy of leading someone to Christ unless you take action. How wonderful it will be when you go to heaven and hear many tell you that, because you spoke up and because of your efforts, they are now saved.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me the privilege of winning souls to the kingdom of light. I pray and receive more grace and boldness to proclaim the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ, and of Your love, and of Your grace. I thank You that You have chosen me for the best job—the job that is appreciated even after my life on earth. I give myself to your Spirit to be used as a soul winner, functioning in the boldness and wisdom of the Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
