The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. (Deuteronomy 28:13)

God has made you for things you can never understand by human reasonings. And, for that He has deposited exceptionalism in you. To be exceptional means to be different than usual, to be superior or to be someone who has attributes that set them apart from others. Being exceptional means that you’re uniquely different in a way, and you know it. Meaning you are not like the rest of the world.

Your exceptionalism is activated and shines through your life, when you think and move according to the Holy Spirit. You cannot focus on this world and demonstrate exceptionalism. Colossians 3:1-3 says, “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.”

When you talk and live exceptional many around you may have an issue with you. But don’t mind them at all. Learn from Abraham, the father of faith. He was called by God from amongst everyone else in his family when God told him; “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you” (Genesis 12:1 MSG). I can only imagine the resistance he must have faced from his family members. But, when he followed God’s voice, he had his exceptional journey begin. Abraham was exceptional, and that should tell you something about your exceptionalism as well, because you’re the seed of Abraham.

As a Christian you are exceptional – extra special – because you belong to the family of God, and thus to the special lineage of grace. This truth about who you are should inspire you to show God’s love everywhere you go. Tell others about Him, so they too can join our glorious family of God. Demonstrate your exceptionalism, think and live accordingly.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for setting me apart by depositing exceptionalism in me through the Holy Spirit. I recognise that my beliefs and ideas are important and superior. I’m the head and not the tail. I’m born forth to show your excellence to the world, and bring them to the marvellous light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
