Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:13 KJV)
In Christ, you have been filled with the Holy Spirit. One of the beautiful things about the Spirit of God is that, He is always there to guide and direct you. He knows the way to lead you to the next chapter of your life.
Many people are unaware of how to hear from the Spirit. Hearing from the Spirit of God is actually very simple—much simpler than many assume. It’s not about convincing Him to speak to you; rather, it’s about recognizing that He is already speaking to you. All you need to do is focus your attention, listen, and receive His words.
There is something called ‘quiet time.’ This is the time when you turn quiet your human spirit and allow yourself to listen to Him and hear from Him. Every successful person on earth has done this. There are times when we need to calm ourselves and align with God’s timing and His way, and this is achieved during quiet time.
It really doesn’t matter what your current circumstances are. You may be facing serious trouble, at the peak of your success, or even feeling that you’ve messed up your life through poor decisions. No matter where you find yourself today, remember that your value is not defined by what you have done. Your identity is rooted in what God sees you to be, and in His hopes and expectations for you. Remember, in Christ, you have God’s ability at work within you. It may be that, until now, you have been ruled by your senses, but now is the time to allow your spirit to rise up and take control of your life.
Jesus talked about entering into your closet and praying (Ref. Matthew 6:6). What this signifies is, taking yourself away from your surroundings and positioning yourself in the presence and identity of God. Practice having quiet time regularly, and you’ll be amazed at how God takes control of your life and how you become synchronized with His perfect will for you.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the wonderful blessing that Your Spirit is with me at all times. I am alive in the Spirit, and I open myself to the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I want to hear from You, and as I spend quiet time with You, I thank You that Your Spirit guides me in all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
