For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Matthew 6:21)
God made us in His own image and He loves us beyond measure. The reason He made us in His own likeness is that we may be the crown of His creation who would have this privilege to know Him and to fellowship with Him. The greatest purpose which Jesus Christ had for His life was to achieve man’s fellowship with God.
In Christ, God has given us the ability to walk with Him and the honor to live this life for Him unto His glory! Being free to live for God is a great achievement which many of God’s children are yet to know and achieve. Let your thoughts be not this way that God has come into your life just to make things beautiful around you and to help you in all that you want Him to help you. There is a greater life which fulfills the very purpose of your existence and gives you true fulfillment. That is to live for Him freely fulfilling His purposes through your life.
There are many people who give to the Lord, but they don’t receive, not because God doesn’t bless them when they give but because they didn’t position themselves to receive. Don’t give selfishly, with selfish motives. Rather, learn to open yourself to give to the Lord, demonstrating how He matters to you, learn to give selflessly. A man may give a million dollar to the kingdom of God grudgingly and receive no blessing however another one can give just a thousand dollar with all his heart and God may bless him in such a manner that He is able to give in billions to the Lord. “Give so that you may receive” is for baby Christians, live above that. Give because you love Him. Jesus said that, where a man’s treasure is there is his heart (Mathew 6:21). Give without being prisoned by the bars of selfishness and live for God because that’s the purpose of your life. Truly live the life walking with Him and having faith in Him and on His words and on His people and not on the things of this world.
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for liberating me from the cares of this world! I live above the cares of this world, being free to live with you and walk with you. I love you with all my heart, and when I give to you, I give because the Kingdom of God is close to my heart. Thank you for giving me this higher walk in Christ Jesus. Amen!
