And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it. (Genesis 1:28)

From the very beginning, God made His intention clear—man was created to take responsibility. When God blessed Adam, He gave him the command to subdue the earth, which means to take charge, exercise dominion, and govern what happens on the earth. It wasn’t God who would decide the daily affairs of the earth—it was Adam.

However, when Adam yielded to the devil, he handed over that authority. That’s why the devil is referred to as the god of this world (ref. 2 Corinthians 4:4). But the good news is that the reign of sin and death was broken by Jesus Christ. Now, through Him, authority has been restored to us.

Romans 5:17 declares, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ”. This means you have been called to reign in life, not to be a victim of it.

God is not the one who decides what will happen next in your life—you are. You have been given His Word, His Spirit, and His authority. What you see today is often the result of how you’ve functioned spiritually—consciously or unconsciously. Before you can change your world, you must acknowledge this responsibility: your future is not up to God; it’s up to you in Christ.

Thank God today that He has entrusted you with authority over the earth and over every power of darkness. You are not helpless—you are in charge.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank You that in Christ Jesus, You have given me authority over the earth and power over all the works of darkness. I acknowledge today that I am responsible for what happens in my life, and I choose to walk in dominion, led by Your Spirit and Your Word. I thank You for trusting me with such power and calling me to reign in life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
