Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (John 17:20–21)
This prayer of our Lord Jesus above is fulfilled in us today—the new creation in Christ—we’ve become one with divinity. 1 Corinthians 6:17 tells us that “he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” We’ve been brought into oneness with Him. We’re in Him, and He is in us. This is the reason we can enjoy rich fellowship with Him.
One of the most important things Jesus came to achieve on this earth was our fellowship with the Father—our oneness with Him. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, we have now become one with God. We are His kind, and we have His nature in us. We can talk to Him at any time and be assured that He hears us, and we can hear Him too—something that was not given even to the children of Israel, who had to hear God through someone on whom the Spirit came temporarily. But for us, the new creation in Christ Jesus, His Spirit lives in us, and we can continually enjoy fellowship with Him.
Take advantage of this union and fellowship with the Monarch of the universe, who is your Father. Let this fellowship transform you and make every aspect of your life beautiful.
Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank You for calling me into oneness with You in Christ Jesus. I’m conscious of Your indwelling presence in me, and I take advantage of this presence in my life. I love You, Father, and I honor my fellowship with You above every other thing. Thank You for Your love towards me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
