I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)

Progress in the kingdom of God is intentional. Faith thrives when it is given direction. Thus, a believer without targets drifts, but a believer with targets advances. Setting goals gives faith an assignment and causes your spirit to focus on growth instead of survival.

Many people set vague targets with an escape clause—“If it doesn’t work, that’s okay.” But faith never works with backup plans. Targets must be set with conviction, expectation, and spiritual responsibility. Just as a person climbs a staircase one step at a time to reach the topmost floor of a building, spiritual advancement also requires step-by-step targets.

Targets help you stretch your boundaries. They push you beyond old habits and old thinking. When you aim at nothing, you hit nothing. When you aim upward, your faith rises to the level of your target. Targets also train your heart to value progress and to recognize God’s guidance at each level.

When your targets are set in the Spirit, you learn to hear God more clearly. You learn to make decisions by the Word. And as you achieve one target after another, your testimony expands. Therefore, set your targets and set them right.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving me the wisdom to set targets. My goals are guided by your Spirit, and my plans are consistent to your Word, and I’m empowered by your love to achieve every step by faith. As I set targets being kingdom conscious, I increase my discipline and sharpen my focus, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
