But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
(Job 32:8)
As another year comes to an end, many of us can truly testify of progress, growth, and increase. However, this is not the experience of everyone. For some, life looks exactly the same as it did last year—and even the year before. The desire to advance is there, yet stagnation remains. The reason is simple: their efforts are focused only on outward changes.
At the beginning of every year, people make resolutions with great enthusiasm. They work hard to maintain them for a while, but as time passes, those resolutions slowly fade away. This happens because many forget a vital truth: life is not lived from the outside; it is lived through the spirit. Life is inside out. When your life is guided and controlled by the Spirit of God, divine power begins to channel and direct everything that concerns you.
A life led by the Spirit does not depend on outward hustling. Instead, your spirit takes charge, aligning your path with God’s will and purpose. The Spirit of God strengthens your inner man, producing consistent results that no human effort can sustain on its own. True and lasting change always begins from within.
When you are ruled by the Spirit, you see life from the Kingdom’s perspective. The Word of God governs your actions, thoughts, and responses, and you begin to dominate your environment with the atmosphere of the Spirit. This is the life we have been called to live as believers. Therefore, stop striving only on the outside. Take charge of your life—and your world—from the inside out.
Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the Holy Spirit. My life is beautiful because the Spirit of God lives in me. I am not subject to death or the destructive systems of this world. I am a partaker of your divine nature; eternal life is at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
