From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. (Luke12:48 NIV)

The word ‘responsibility’ means the ability to respond—to a need or an opportunity—in a way that your involvement makes it better or complete.

There are many people who are not trained in life and go on with the approach of ‘what will be, will be.’ God has not made you so intelligent, just so that you remain like trash on earth.

God’s idea is a garden, not a wild forest. When hair grows or nails grow, you trim them. You take a bath every day to keep yourself neat and tidy. That should be your approach to life as a whole. What is your goal? What are you supposed to do? Are there areas of your life where you need to improve? You must identify them and take responsibility for them. You are not defined by what happened to you; you are defined by what you make of yourself. If you need to learn more, learn it. If you need to become more skilful, go ahead. Scriptures will not be revealed to your mind unless you study them, involve your spirit, and add faith to it.

Are there people for whom you are responsible? Are people dependent on you in your family? Have you identified your responsibilities toward them? Do you plan your time and resources wisely? And what about your church family? What about the house of God? What is your contribution to the house of God? It is very important that you learn to be responsible in life. Look at what happened with Abraham. Not only did God bless him, but He made him a blessing. That was possible because Abraham walked with God and took responsibility at the right time. You are in a dispensation greater than that of Abraham. The Spirit of God lives inside you—how much more can God achieve through your life when you learn to be responsible!

Prayer:
Dear, loving Heavenly Father, I thank You for giving Your Spirit to live in me. You have blessed me and directed Your grace and favor toward me. I take responsibility for my life. I choose to be responsible. I allow Your grace to flourish in my life as I execute all my responsibilities wisely through Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
