And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD (Isaiah 11:2)
The Holy Spirit has been referred to as the Spirit of the Lord. There is significance in this phrase, ‘the Spirit of the Lord.’ Obviously, it means He is the Spirit of God, the Lord, but it also means that this Spirit is the Lord Himself. In other words, whenever this Spirit is manifested, He manifests as the Lord over everything.
When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, He makes you the lord over the situation. One thing you must look for deep in your spirit is the sense of lordship. When you pray in tongues, a lot is happening in the spiritual realm. Many things are being changed and influenced. Darkness is repelled, and in the midst of all this, something significant is happening: you are taking control over the situation. Taking charge over the situation is real. This is something you must look out for, in your spirit. Once you are able to perceive this within you, it won’t take long before you see yourself ruling over situations and circumstances—even in the physical realm. Indeed, you take control over your situation and circumstances through the Spirit of the Lord.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for filling me with the Holy Spirit. Your Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord, which gives me authority over every situation and circumstance. As I spend time praying in the Spirit, I gain authority over my situation and circumstances. Thank You, Father, for giving me the power in the name of Jesus. Amen.
