Finally my brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith. (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2)
We live in a world today where forces are coming against the preaching of the Gospel. These are the end times, and hence it is imperative for us to pray for the Word of God to have free course in our nations and the whole world.
When decrees and laws are enacted that are anti-Christian or against the preaching of the gospel, we must be aware that such things are done by unreasonable and wicked men who have found their way into power for their own selfish ends. But we can stop them in their tracks. As a matter of fact, God expects us to, because, in the 3rd verse of 2 Thessalonians 3, we are given the assurance that we have his attention when we pray against such: “But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.” (2 Thessalonians 3:3).
There’s so much power in the church, but we can’t discover the extent and potency of the power we possess with our mouths shut. For the power to be effective, we’re going to have to pray and declare what we want to see in our country. We’re not at the mercy of the evil machinations of unreasonable and wicked men, irrespective of the position they occupy. We have the divine authority to cause a change. All that is required is the earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer by the righteous (James 5:16). Who is this righteous one? It’s you. Look beyond yourself, and pray for the things you want to see in your nation and the world at large. If at all, you are with this vision of making this world a better place, then take out time today, especially to kneel on your knees and bow your head to pray for your nation. Remember, you are the righteous one, who has the power and authority to bring any change.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for giving me the authority to bring changes in this world. As I pray today, I send angels to change the minds of people and to bring peace and order in my nation, such that the Word of God has free course in my nation and the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
