And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. (Exodus 17:11)

Lifting our hands and praying is a very important prayer posture. We see in our main verse, that at the time Israel was at a war against Amalek, every time Moses lifted his hands, the Israelite army led by Joshua won. When you read further, you see, that since Moses’s hands were heavy; “…..they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.” (Exodus 17:12-13)

Lifting hands in prayer, is a recipe for victory. Lifting up of our hands is a physical demonstration of yielding ourselves fully to God. It’s also an act of praise and adoration towards God. Bible says: Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice (Psalm 141:2).

When you pray lifting up your hands it works as a strengthener and healer for your body too. The power that is made available through your prayer also resonates in your body. Thus, give your time and dedication to praying with your hands lifted up. No matter the situation in front of you, when you pray like that, your victory is assured.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege of prayer. I give importance to praying with my hands lifted up. I lift my hands to you today in holiness, to bless and adore you for your glory, majesty and grace, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
