But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. (Matthew 13:8-9)
Roots source the nourishment to the plant. Roots are the agent that extract minerals and nourishment from the ground. Thus it’s important that the roots of a plant are deepening at the right place having the right nourishment.
Suppose a mango seed is planted in a desert, no matter the amount of water you put into the seed it won’t grow because the roots can never extract the right nutrition from desert to provide for the mango tree to begin growth. That’s exactly what happens when Christians try to gain knowledge and growth from the world, when they try to source their productivity from the elements of this world. Their roots are not able to find correct nourishment and thus their growth gets hindered.
It’s important that you keep a check on yourself. Who are your friends? What are your conversations? How much time do you spend in fellowshipping with the Spirit? How much time do you spend in the Word? How much time do you spend on social media? Where do you invest your finances? If the answer to these questions does not lead you to God and His purpose for your life, then you need to initiate a change in your way of life.
Wherever you thrive mentally and physically that’s where your roots will extract nourishment from. If your mind and body is not stayed on God, your growth: physically and spiritually; is impossible. Make up your mind today to fill yourself with the right nourishment.
Confession:
I keep my mind stayed on Lord Jesus Christ. I stand my ground in faith and establish myself in the Word of God. I nurture my spirit with the things from above and not from the earthly things. I’m fruitful and productive for the glory of God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
