fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
Have you ever uprooted a plant from a particular pot and planted it in another better pot or completely transported it to another place? This is often done to restore a plant which is decaying or help a plant in growth and productivity. Basically, the purpose is to give it a brand new life and atmosphere to bloom.
As a Christian, you also need to disconnect yourself from all such environments whose root is not in Christ. Many Christians suffer because they are in the wrong environment; they are in the wrong atmosphere, they are in wrong friendships, in wrong jobs and often times in wrong habits.
When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord, you were taken out of the world and brought into the kingdom of God’s dear son; an uprooting happened and you were not just re rooted but recreated in Christ. Today you have no connection with your old man (ref. 2 Corinthians 5:17). You must therefore learn to cut off from your life, anything that is not from the Word of God. You must disconnect yourself to reconnect with your divine inheritance in Christ Jesus. Death, sickness, disease, and everything of darkness can’t and shouldn’t, reign in your physical body, because your human life was supplanted by God’s divine life. This happens when you consciously disconnect yourself from this world and its elements.
Therefore, fix your gaze on Jesus alone. Root yourself in Him alone. He is the only truth, the only way and the only life. Hallelujah
