Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: (James 1:12-13)

What would you call someone who invites a thief inside his house, and shows all the cash and jewelry and allows free access to the thief in his house? You would call that person a fool. Such is every person who allows temptations to take root inside them.

It’s important that you recognise the temptations that tend to take you away from your calling in Christ Jesus, and then consciously remove them from your life. Temptation is every desire, plan or idea that is against God’s Word and His purpose for your life. Every such temptation is like a weed that grows along with the main plant in the fields and extracts the nutrients from soil meant for the original plant, in turn hampering the growth of the plant.

Give no place to any temptation. When the elements of this world try to tempt you, remind yourself of your legacy. You are Abraham’s seed and therefore an inheritor of the goodness of this earth. By default, you need not let anything entice you. You are the King’s kid. The universe is your inheritance, therefore chase after nothing but your Heavenly Father.

Prayer:
Precious Father, I thank you for your great love for me. I cast out every temptation from my life because the Word of God has filled my heart and I exude the power of God. I consciously remove every unwanted desire from my life and direct my heart towards the leading of the Holy Spirit, thereby making great impact for the Gospel. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
