Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm. (Psalm 105:15)
As a Christian you must have great esteem and regard for God’s anointed men and women. The Bible says in 1 thessalonians 5:13 to “esteem them very highly in love”. When God puts you under the leadership of a man or woman of God, God gives them the responsibility to raise you, thus it’s important that you value them and their counsel.
Often times, you will find Christians criticising or judging ministers of God, that’s a wrong approach. You should never find yourself participating in such conversation. God’s anointed are God’s servants, thus it’s only God who has the authority over them. Romans 14:4 says; “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand”(NIV). If you ever think that a certain man or woman of God is not walking right according to God’s Word, pray to God and don’t be a judge yourself. Let God deal with the matter after all He is their master.
Also, you must be careful about your access to a man or woman of God. If you have close access to God’s anointed, don’t ever take it lightly. If you are close to a Pastor, double up your walk of honour. You will see their weakness but never take it for granted. You will see faults but do not let it lead you into offence. Honour them because they are called by God, and that call is what sets them apart.
Some people never stopped seeing Jesus as the carpenter’s son, and that’s the reason they could never receive anything from Him. Rebecca accepted the priesthood of Isaac and her barrenness ended. Michal despised the priesthood of David and died a barren woman. Your approach towards the anointed one can make all the difference in your life.
Learn to follow the scriptures in your approach towards everything and don’t partake in the ways of the world.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for your Word that is training me in right perspective towards every aspect of your kingdom. I receive corrections and edify my ways. I honour God’s anointed ones and refuse to judge them. I esteem them very highly for their work sake. In Jesus’s Name. Amen!
