Now Moses was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later (Hebrews 3:5)

Moses was called by God to deliver Israel from the hands of Egyptian pharaoh at the age of 80 years. An age which many consider as an age of closure of their lives. Though it took him some time to accept his calling at the beginning considering his age, but once he set out to achieve what God had called him for; he never let his experience of age come between the command of God.

When God delivered the children of Israel from the hands of their oppressors, the Egyptians, He didn’t lead them on the road that made the most sense. The Bible says, “Instead, he led them in a roundabout way through the desert toward the Red Sea…” (Exodus 13:18 GNB). Then, trapped between the Red Sea and an invading army, Moses began to “pray” to God for intervention. But God interrupted him and said, “Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it…” (Exodus 14:16 AMPC). In the situation that they were in, this instruction was too simple to be real. Moses could have easily doubted God, considering his years of experience of travelling around, but he acted on the command of God and they had their miracle.

As children of God, we should always keep God’s instruction above our experiences. God’s wisdom is a solution in every situation, while if we depend on our experiences in life to decide our course, we can miss the miracle. Bible says: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your glorious plans in my life. I refuse to depend on my own experiences for understanding, instead I depend on your Word completely. I trust you with all my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
