For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect.
(Romans 4:14)

Can faith be made void? Emphatically, yes! Our main verse shows us that it’s possible to make your faith void.

It’s our responsibility to use our faith to channelize our life, such that we live in the perfect plan of God. However, the problem with many Christians is that they have made their faith void. Thus, they are not living in the perfect plan of God.

In Mark 7:13, we see that Jesus rebuked the Jews for making God’s Word of no effect by their tradition. “Tradition” here refers to your way of life, your culture, and the things you believe and do. If these things are inconsistent with the Word of God, you make the Word of no effect in your life, and your faith is made void.

Stick to God’s Word and your faith will produce results. We learnt yesterday to say “yes” to God. That’s exactly what you do when you stick to His Word and don’t fall into the trap of the elements of this world. Let nothing be your guiding force — not your experience, not your tradition, not your location, not your feeling — but just the Word of God.

Prayer
Precious Father, thank You for teaching me the lessons of faith. My trust is in the finished work of Christ. I stick to Your Word alone. I’m a doer of the Word. My life of faith is an inspiration to others in my world. In Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen!
