Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
(Psalm 100:4)
Around this time every year, we come together to specially thank God for the glorious year He has given us. Your thanksgiving, therefore, should be heartfelt and specific. Before you go to church today, take some time to reflect on each month of the year. Write down in a diary or on paper all the wonderful testimonies you experienced throughout this year. Take it with you to church and thank the Lord for each one of them. Give glory to God in the presence of all your brethren. He deserves your glorious, magnificent, and specific thanksgiving!
Remember, today is one of the most important services of the year. Be on time and come with excitement. Though thanksgiving is not limited to just one day, when we gather together to thank the Lord for specific reasons, it greatly pleases Him.
Don’t let this day pass like any other. Make it count. Come to church in your best attire, prepare your very best thanksgiving offering, and be ready to step forward and testify of the wondrous works God has done for you throughout this year. Never hesitate to testify—your testimony is an expression of thanksgiving to God. If God was not ashamed to answer your prayers and reward your faith, do not be ashamed or hesitant to acknowledge Him and His faithfulness. Prepare well, because it’s thanksgiving!
Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank You for all that You have done in my life. You have lifted me, sustained me, and filled my days with Your goodness. I choose to honor You with heartfelt thanksgiving and praise, acknowledging Your faithfulness in every season. My life continually glorifies You, and my mouth boldly testifies of Your love and grace. I abound in thanksgiving today and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
