Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
We live in a world where spiritual realities operate constantly. While God has given His angels to assist those who belong to Him, there are also demonic forces that oppose the work of God and try to influence human life. Because of this, it is very important that believers learn to deal with spiritual opposition correctly.
Scripture clearly shows that victory begins with alignment. When you submit yourself to God and to His Word, you position yourself under divine authority. From that position, you are instructed to resist the devil. Resisting does not mean being afraid or passive; it means standing firm against every influence, lie, or pressure that contradicts God’s truth.
The Bible teaches that the devil is the adversary who seeks to intimidate and deceive, but he must flee when confronted with faith and spiritual authority (ref. Peter 5:8–9). This is why it is important to stay alert and spiritually disciplined. Fill yourself with the Word, pray in the Spirit, and speak God’s truth boldly when opposition appears.
Demons operate through deception and fear, but they lose power when you stand in truth. Do not tolerate their influence. Recognize their schemes, resist them firmly, and continue walking in faith. When you remain submitted to God and resist the devil, Scripture assures that he must flee.
Confession:
Precious Father, I declare that I remain submitted to You and aligned with Your Word. I resist every work of the devil and every influence of darkness. I refuse deception, fear, and intimidation, and I stand firm in the authority You have given me in Christ. I declare that every demonic opposition is driven away, and I walk in freedom, victory, and spiritual authority. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
