But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in which I will appear unto thee (Acts 26:16).
Many drift along in life, living without any sense of purpose. You were born for a purpose, and it’s important to discover your purpose in life. God put you on earth for a reason, for a definite purpose.
To understand your purpose, it’s important that you are clear about the meaning of the word “purpose”. Purpose is an idea or aim kept in the mind as the goal towards which one’s efforts are directed. It’s a definite intention; the object or reason for which something exists or is done. Jesus came on earth for a purpose and He was clear about it. He came so that we may have life, and we may have it more abundantly (John 10:10).
Now that you are in Christ, you have been enrolled into the same purpose of the Father for which He sent Jesus. In John 20:21, the Jesus said, “Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you”. This is now your purpose; you’ve been sent to reach all men with the gospel of life. You are a savior of this world. Bible says, “…The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the Devil’s work” (1 John 3:8 HCSB). This is now your purpose, to destroy the works of the devil and make this world a better place, with the love of God. Let nothing stop you from fulfilling your purpose! Let your whole life be in pursuit of this purpose; be passionate for the kingdom!
Prayer:
Glorious Father, I thank you for giving me a purpose and a meaning. I live for the purpose for which you sent me on earth. I am driven by the pursuit for this purpose. I am a shining light; shining brighter and brighter each day for the Lord. Amen!
