Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil… seeketh whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8)

Laziness is not always obvious. Sometimes it shows up as spiritual inactivity—a lack of urgency in prayer, in speaking the Word, or in responding to situations. But as a believer, you are not called to be passive. You are called to be alert, active, and responsive.

When challenges arise, your response matters. Ignoring them or delaying action only gives room for things to grow worse. The instruction is clear: resist the devil. That means you must respond immediately—with the Word, with faith, and with authority.

Lord Jesus never gave the enemy any space. He didn’t delay speaking the Word. He didn’t wait for a better moment. He responded instantly and decisively. That’s the pattern we are called to follow. Spiritual activity keeps you in control and prevents situations from taking over.

So stay alert. Stay engaged. Speak the Word when it matters. Act when it’s required. As you remain spiritually active, you will maintain victory and keep moving forward.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I remain alert and spiritually active. I refuse passivity and delay. I respond with Your Word and stand in authority over every situation. I walk in victory and dominion always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
