My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me (John 10:27)
For a child of God, hearing God’s voice should not be viewed as an extraordinary event but as a daily reality. The Holy Spirit lives within you, and His desire is to guide you continually in every area of your life. He does not need thunder, lightning or dramatic signs to get your attention because He already dwells in your spirit.
Many times, He will remind you to pray, stir your heart to study the Word, prompt you to obey an instruction from your local church, or bring conviction concerning your giving and other acts of obedience. These are not random thoughts but expressions of His loving guidance.
Never become careless with His promptings. Every act of obedience strengthens your fellowship with Him and increases your sensitivity to His voice. As you continually yield to the Holy Spirit, His leading becomes clearer, and your life increasingly reflects God’s wisdom and purpose.
Live each day expecting to hear from the Holy Spirit, for walking with Him is the normal Christian life.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank You because the Holy Spirit speaks to me every day. My ears are attentive to His voice, and my heart is quick to obey His instructions. I refuse to ignore His promptings, and I walk in continual fellowship with Him, fulfilling Your perfect will, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.
