Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Now that you are in Christ, you must ensure to never dwell in your past. It makes no difference what your past experiences may have been—you are the glory of God today. Your past may contain moments you wish you could change, but your history does not have the authority to determine your identity in Christ. When you came into Christ, you were brought into a new life—a life of beauty, purpose, grace, and excellence.
Sometimes people continue to punish themselves for things God has already forgiven. They allow old failures, disappointments, or painful experiences to become the lens through which they see themselves. But the Word of God says that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. God is not asking you to live in yesterday. He has brought you into today with His life working in you.
Your present is not an extension of your failures; it is an opportunity to express the life of Christ. You can choose to think differently, speak differently, and live differently because you are no longer who you used to be. God’s grace has given you a new beginning, and His excellence is at work in you now.
So, do not keep looking backward. Celebrate what God has made you today. Your life is full of His beauty and excellence, and His glory can be expressed through you regardless of where you started. Walk forward with confidence, knowing that Christ is your life and His grace is sufficient for you.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for making me a new creation in Christ. Thank You that my past does not define me and that Your grace has brought me into a life of beauty and excellence. I walk forward in confidence and joy. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
