Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33 NIV)

If you are a Christian, it is very important that you choose your company guided by the wisdom of God. The people you surround yourselves with, influence your thoughts, your talks and your ways. Thus, it’s important that you have the right people in your circle. The amplified Bible translation of our main verse highlights this: “Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals and character.” (1 Corinthians 15:33 AMP).

Your choice of companions matters to God, so you must be wise when choosing them. A good companion is anyone whose friendship brings you closer to God, inspires you to pray more, learn God’s Word more, and do the things of God more. Your association should encourage and increase your abilities to do more for God. That’s the kind of relationship you should have with others.

If you have the wrong company, you wouldn’t have much spiritual advancement. You’ll discover that you’re not excited about going to church or anything that concerns the House of God, nor about studying your Bible, or sharing the gospel with others. That’s why it’s imperative that you have the spirit filled people as your friends.

Choose the right friends, be guided by the Holy Spirit in doing so. Constantly remind yourself of our main verse for today.

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your love. Thank you for protecting me and guiding me into making the right friends. I surround myself with people who inspire me into Godly things. I refuse to follow the ways of this world, but instead I’m guided by the Holy Spirit in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
