And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? (Matthew 8:26)

Fear can make a difficult situation appear greater than it is. It can cause us to focus so intensely on the storm that we forget the presence of the Lord. The disciples were overwhelmed by the waves, but Lord Jesus demonstrated that their circumstances were not beyond His authority.

Confidence in God does not mean that we are denying the facts. It means that we refuse to allow those facts to control our faith and action.

The Christian life calls us to grow beyond a reaction of fear. We must learn to fill our hearts with the Word of God, practise what we have learned, and maintain fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Spiritual confidence develops as we continually discover God’s faithfulness.

Cheer up and continue in faith. Your victory is not founded on the absence of problems but on the Lord who remains with you in the midst of them. Keep your eyes on Lord Jesus, act on His Word, and move forward with the assurance that He is faithful.

Prayer:

Dear Father, I thank You because Your presence is greater than every fear and every storm. Thank You for strengthening my heart through Your Word. I remain steadfast, and act on Your instructions, and walk forward in the victory You have given me through Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
