And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. (Mark 11:22)
Faith is not merely a human attempt to remain hopeful when life becomes difficult. The Lord Jesus taught His disciples to have faith in God. Our confidence is rooted in Him, His character, His ability, and His Word. As believers, we are called to develop a faith that takes God at His Word and responds accordingly.
In Mark 11:23–24, the Lord Jesus teaches the importance of believing when we pray. This kind of believing goes beyond simply acknowledging that God exists. It involves trusting His Word so deeply that our response is shaped by what He has said, even before we see the result with our physical eyes.
When you pray, do not treat prayer as a routine in which you speak words without expecting anything. Approach God with an understanding of His Word and a heart that trusts Him. Your confidence should not depend entirely on immediate evidence, because faith takes God seriously before the manifestation appears.
The God-kind of faith is expressed through believing, speaking, and acting in agreement with God’s Word. It does not mean that we can demand anything we imagine or control God through our words. Rather, we trust Him according to His revealed will and remain confident in His faithfulness. Develop this kind of faith and let it influence every area of your life.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for teaching me to place my confidence in You. Thank You for Your Word, which shows me how to believe and respond in faith. My faith grows through Your Word, and my life demonstrates a genuine confidence in You, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
