He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city. (Proverbs 16:32)
God is so kind and gracious that in Christ Jesus, He has taken us out of this world and has brought us into a higher kind of life. He gave us a new nature and has given us the higher values of life. In our main scripture, we find a very powerful mystery revealed to us. Being slow to anger is greater than being physically strong and exercising self-control is greater than capturing an entire city. God is focusing on making us winners over those things which tend to slave mankind, and then rule over them and destroy God’s perfect plan for them.
Anger is an outside crippling force, it is not just intolerance towards that which a man feels is wrong but it is much worse than that. Anger brings madness into a person’s life and he forgets the values of things around him. It becomes easy for him to abuse, destroy and act foolishly causing a lot of damage to his own self. Many beautiful relationships have been destroyed because of unnecessary anger. God doesn’t want you to become a victim of anger, rather He wants that you should be the one who would rule over your own self and also over the situations of your life. It is His perfect will to see you walking in godly wisdom which is far greater than walking in anger.
Refuse to get enslaved by anger. Live the kingly life by taking charge over your emotions and by putting God’s Word first in all the situations of your life.
Confession:
I am a child of God and I exercise my dominion over my life. I refuse to let anger exercise its dominion over me. But I give place to God’s wisdom to take control over my life. Hallelujah!
