Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. (Daniel 3:28-29)

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were the three boys who were brought to Babylon along with Daniel. In Daniel chapter three, we read the inspiring testimony of these boys, who were bound and thrown into a fiery furnace for refusing to bow to king Nebuchadnezzar’s idol.

Before throwing them into fire; the king warned them of consequences, however, the boys stood their ground in faith saying: “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.” (Daniel 3:17-18)

The king was so angry by their statement of faith that the Bible says: “….Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated” (Daniel 3:19). Nebuchadnezzar’s command was so urgent, and the fire was so intense that the soldiers who threw the three young Hebrew men into the furnace fell to death instantly. But then, right inside the fire, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego remained unhurt! A “fourth man” was inside the fire with them, and protected them. Not even a strand of their hair was damaged. At the sight of this, the Bible says “Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God (Daniel 3:23-25). The three boys came out of the fire without any harm. And the king and all nation praised, Lord God.

The Lord never promised that you wouldn’t go through the fire, but that when you walk through the fire you shall not be burnt; neither shall the flame kindle upon you (Isaiah 43:2). Therefore, as a child of God refuse to bow down to anything that’s against the Word of God. Stand your ground in faith. Don’t be intimidated by the forces of this world. Our Lord is your strength and your shield. You are harmproof.

Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for being by strength and my shield. Nothing shall by any means hurt me. I’m protected by the anointing that’s at work in me. I walk in faith giving glory to your Name forevermore. Amen!

There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. (Joshua 1: 5-6)

After Moses, God chose Joshua to lead Israel to the promised land. Joshua was a faithful servant of Moses. He grew in the mentorship of Moses.
When God’s people came to the borders of Canaan for the first time, the Lord instructed Moses to send out spies into the land (Numbers 13:2–20). Joshua was one among those men. And, upon returning back his report was one of faith and not fear, unlike others.

Joshua was one of such characters in the Bible who was guided to victory by divine revelations. He obeyed God without any doubt, much like Moses. As Joshua prepared to lead Israel in one of her defining battles, the angel of the Lord appeared to him and gave him the strategy by which he should defeat the enemy. Even though the city, Jericho, was greatly fortified against aggression, God’s Word to him at that moment assured him of victory. The Holy Spirit gave
Joshua the winning strategy. He said, “And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets
of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, …and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him” (Joshua 6:3-5).

Those walls weren’t ordinary walls; they were fortifications of massive proportions. However, when the Israelites shouted according to the Lord’s instruction, the walls came crumbling down (Ref. Joshua 6).

As Christians, we must learn, to always depend on God’s instruction regardless of the opposing situation we may face. True faith means obeying God even when His instructions don’t seem to make sense in human eyes. We must remember, with God on our side, victory is always ours.

Prayer:
Blessed Heavenly Father, thank you for filling me with your Spirit. I’m full of courage. I do not faint on the day of test, but I’m full of faith, standing on your Word, my life is upward and forward only, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon
(Nehemiah 4:17).

Nehemiah was the cupbearer of the king of Persia. When he got to know about the condition of Jerusalem, the people of Jerusalem, and the temple, he took it upon himself to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. With the permission and assistance of the king, he journeyed to Jerusalem and aroused the people to join hands with him in rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.

Nehemiah was faced with an intense opposition when he decided to build the wall of Jerusalem. The Jews’ enemies were determined to stop the building by slaying the builders. But Nehemiah wasn’t ignorant of their evil plans and intentions.

As he led God’s people to build the wall, they prepared to ward off any form of attack. Each one held a weapon with the other hand, taking every necessary precaution against any onslaught from the enemy. This was written for our learning. Did Nehemiah and the children of Israel succeed in their God-given purpose? Of course yes!

In Nehemiah 12:43, when they had built the walls of Jerusalem and it was time for them to celebrate, the Bible says, “Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced: for God had made them rejoice with great joy: the wives also and the children rejoiced: so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard even afar off.”

As Christians, we have to learn to be concentrated on the purpose God has put before us, despite the numerous challenges, issues and pressures we face in our world today. We must be prepared for any challenge and be determined to complete the purpose God has given us; just like Nehemiah and his people did in Jerusalem.

Prayer:
Precious Heavenly Father, I thank you for unconditional grace upon my life. I’m determined to fulfill my purpose on earth unto the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m not moved by any element of this world system, but concentrated on fulfilling my purpose by the the power of Holy Ghost, in Jesus’ mighty Name. Amen!

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. (Genesis 37:3)

Joseph was one of the twelve sons of Jacob(Israel), and the first born from his favourite wife. Joseph was Jacob’s favourite son, and that irked the rest of the brothers. Joseph was also anointed with God’s wisdom and he would see dreams from God, through which God spoke to him of his future where he would rule over his brothers.

His brothers did not like him and wanted to get rid of him and on one occasion, they had the opportunity to do just what they wanted. On the day Joseph joined them for farming, they sold him into slavery, and he went to Egypt as a slave. Nevertheless, the Bible says he found grace in the sight of Potiphar, his master, and served him: “…and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand” (Genesis 39:4).

In the course of time, Joseph was imprisoned because his master’s wife accused him falsely. But wisdom promoted Joseph and gave him the advantage, such that even while in prison, he became the head of the prisoners. Later, according to God’s plan he helped the Pharaoh understand his dream and saved Egypt from famine through the wisdom of God in him.

Pharaoh’s remarks to his servants as a result of the wisdom he saw and heard in Joseph were so powerful : “…Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou…See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:38-41). Joseph became the prime minister of Egypt. And, eventually the day came when all his brothers bowed before him, and the dream that God showed him came to pass.

In all the years of Joseph’s journey from being the favourite son to a slave, from prison to palace, he never doubted the plan of God. He trusted God, through his journey. As Christians, we must always trust God through our journey of life and ministry in Christ Jesus. Let God’s wisdom pilot you through your course, and you will never be at a loss.

Prayer:
Precious Heavenly Father, I thank you for the wonderful plans you have for my life. I depend on you completely and none of my steps slide. I’m born to win, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
