And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. (Acts 13:22 )

When God chose David to be the king of Israel, he was just a shepherd boy who was responsible and faithful towards taking care of sheep; and a boy who loved God with all his heart. His heart was always bent towards giving glory to God and living a life that pleases God. Our main verse says that God called him a man after God’s own heart.

Throughout the life of David, he walked, loving God and serving God. He made several mistakes and committed sins, for which, he was punished by God; but the beautiful thing is David always understood his mistake and wanted to correct them. He always turned back to God. And God forgave him and blessed him. No wonder he was the most successful king of Israel and the only king to crown his successor himself.

As Christian, we must always know that even if we err, we have grace with God in Christ Jesus, which is way more than what David had. Never run away from God. Don’t be proud not to own up your error. Humble yourself unto the throne of God, and you will be a success in your life all the way. I want you learn from the words of David in 2 Samuel 24:14; “And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.”

Prayer:
Dear Father, I thank you for your grace, which I have received in Christ Jesus. I refuse to be proud and arrogant. Instead, I press in faith to be a man after your heart, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!!
