My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. (John 10:27)

Prayer is our divine communication with our Heavenly Father. It is not merely a moment to present our needs or ask for help—prayer is a sacred time of communion, consultation, and fellowship with God.

The Bible reminds us, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Philippians 4:6). While we may begin our prayer with thanksgiving and praise, it is essential that we also learn to quiet the noise around us, and within us, and become still before the Lord.

Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God”. In that stillness, our hearts become attuned to His voice. Prayer is not only about speaking to God; it is also about listening to Him. When we pray with spiritual alertness, we position ourselves to receive divine instruction, insight, and wisdom.

Jesus said, “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear” (Matthew 11:15). It is in those moments of prayer, when our spirit is aligned with Him, that God often reveals things which are strategic for our future. He speaks direction, assurance, and even correction that shapes us into His purpose.

Therefore, let prayer be more than a routine in your life. Let it be your gateway to hear the heart of the Father.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the precious privilege of prayer. Thank You that Your voice is ever present to guide me and direct my steps. As I open my heart before You in prayer, I receive Your voice with clarity. Through Your voice, I chart the course of my life according to Your will. In Jesus’ name.Amen!
