That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. (Ephesians 1:17–18)

When Job was suffering and the devil was trying him, he questioned God under the influence of his friends’ counsel. What is interesting to note is that God never replied to his questions, but only told Job who He was. If you study Job 38–42, you will find God revealing how He created the whole world, and all that is in it, and how He governs it all. After Job’s encounter with God, we see that Job received back manifold of what he had lost. The knowledge of God is all it takes for anyone to come out of any precarious situation.

The more you know God, the more faith you will have, because faith comes through the knowledge of His Word. Fear is eliminated from your life, and thus the devil gets no entry point. Remember Job said, “For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3:25). Fear gives the devil an entry point; fear is negative faith. But if you know who your Heavenly Father is, you will never fear.

You may think you love God, but you can never fully live and bask in His love until you know Him. It is in the knowledge of Him that grace, love, and liberty to serve Him, live with Him, and live for Him truly abide.

There are many who pray in the Name of Jesus, but their prayers are not effective because they don’t know Him enough. They don’t understand the Lordship of Jesus or the power of His Name. Just like those Jewish exorcists who tried to use the Name of Jesus on evil spirits without knowing Him—and the evil spirit responded: “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded (Acts 19:15–16). What a tragedy!

As a child of God, it’s important that your life should not be a tale of suffering but of victory. Spend time to know Him, and know Him more and more, for there is no end to knowing Him. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13).

Prayer:
Precious Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your love. Lord, I desire to know You more. Reveal Yourself to me, that I may live in the plan and purpose You have designed for me in Christ Jesus, and that I may bring glory to Your Name forever. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
