And Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him. (Daniel 6:3)
Excellence is not merely about appearance, achievements, or doing things perfectly. True excellence begins within. Daniel was distinguished because an excellent spirit was found in him. His excellence was not something he put on for people to see; it was a quality that flowed from within and was evident in everything he did.
As children of God, we have received the Holy Spirit, and He is at work in us to produce what is pleasing to God. We do not have to depend only on our natural abilities to produce excellent results. The wisdom of Christ and the grace of God are working in us. When we yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit, excellence becomes evident in our character, our work, our relationships, and our decisions.
An excellent spirit means that we refuse to approach life carelessly. We give our best because we understand who lives in us. Whether something appears important or insignificant to others, we can do it with diligence, integrity, wisdom, and joy. Excellence is not about competing with others; it is about allowing the life of Christ in us to find expression through everything we do.
Today, remember that you have an excellent spirit. You can produce excellent results because Christ is at work in you. Let His wisdom guide your decisions, His grace strengthen your efforts, and His character be seen through your life. Wherever you go, let people encounter the excellence of the Spirit through you.
Prayer:
Dear Father, thank You for giving me an excellent spirit. Thank You for the Holy Spirit who works in me and empowers me to produce excellent results. Thank You for the wisdom of Christ and Your superabundant grace at work in my life. I yield myself to You and allow Your excellence to be expressed through everything I do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
