The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge. (Proverbs 18:15)

An excellent person remains teachable. One of the quickest ways to stop growing is to convince yourself that you already know enough. There is always something new to learn, something to understand more deeply, and something to improve.

Daniel’s excellence was connected with knowledge and understanding. He was not presented as someone who had stopped developing. His capacity made him useful in different circumstances. He could interpret dreams, explain difficult matters, and bring clarity to complicated situations.

You should have the same attitude toward learning. Learn from the Word of God. Learn from people who through faith have achieved greatness. Learn from those who exhibit God’s wisdom in their lives. Learn from experience. Learn from correction. Learn from your mistakes. Learn from opportunities. A teachable person can keep improving.

Develop the habit of asking, “What can I learn from this?” When something doesn’t go as planned, learn. When someone corrects you, examine it. When you encounter a difficult situation, learn from it. When you discover an area of weakness, work on it. Excellence is a commitment to continual growth.

Prayer:

Precious Father, I thank You for the ability to learn and for the wisdom available through Your Word. I am grateful for a teachable spirit. Thank You for giving me humility to receive correction and wisdom to learn from every experience. I declare that I am increasing in knowledge, understanding, wisdom, and excellence every day, in Jesus’ Name. Amen
