But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. (Acts 1:8)

The Christian life is not a powerless life. We have received the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in us, and He enables us to live beyond the limitations of human ability. This is why Christianity cannot be reduced to human effort, religious activity, or good intentions. There is a supernatural life available to the believer.

But living in the supernatural does not mean chasing spectacular experiences while neglecting the simple disciplines of Christian living. True spiritual power is demonstrated in a life submitted to the Word of God. It is seen in love, faith, holiness, courage, generosity, wisdom, self-control, service, and the ability to stand firm on faith in difficult circumstances.

The more you yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, the more the life of Christ can be expressed excellently through you.

This is excellence in Christian life: not merely knowing more Scriptures, not merely attending more meetings, and not merely being able to preach, but allowing the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to transform the way you live. Let your Christianity be visible. Let Christ be seen in your character. Let the power of the Holy Spirit be evident in your service. And let your life continually move upward into greater spiritual maturity.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit and for the supernatural life You have given me in Christ. Thank You for Your Word that teaches me how to walk in the Spirit and express the life of Christ. Thank You for taking me from glory to glory and making my life a testimony of Your grace and power. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
