For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
(Hebrews 11:10)
Faith gives you something to look toward even before you arrive there. Abraham lived with an expectation that went beyond what was immediately visible. He was not merely wandering without direction; he was looking for something that God had placed before him.
This inner picture matters because your heart needs a destination. When you know what you are pursuing, you can organise your thoughts, decisions, prayers, and actions around it. Without direction, even great ability can become scattered.
Develop the discipline of seeing what God’s Word is leading you toward. If you are believing God for growth, see yourself becoming more spiritually mature. If you are developing a ministry, see yourself serving people with greater wisdom and effectiveness. If you are pursuing a God-honouring assignment, allow that purpose to influence your preparation today.
The picture must always remain submitted to God’s will. Faith is responding to what He has revealed and trusting Him enough to move toward it. Let your inner vision be governed by Scripture, prayer, wisdom, and obedience.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the vision that Your Word gives me. Thank You that I do not have to live without direction or purpose. I am grateful for every godly desire You place within my heart and for the wisdom to submit my plans to Your will, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
