Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:24)

The prayer of faith is a prayer offered with confidence in God and His Word. It goes beyond merely expressing a desire; it is approaching God with a heart that trusts His faithfulness. It is specific and receiving promptly.

The Lord Jesus teaches us in Mark 11:24 to believe when we pray, even before we see the answer. Our confidence is not determined by visible circumstances but by our assurance in the One to whom we pray. Prayer of faith, is not repetitive but it’s bold, confident and active about what it received from God. That is exactly what our Lord Jesus meant in Mark 11:24 when He said, “when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”.

The prayer of faith also influences how we see and respond to life. As 2 Corinthians 4:18 teaches, we learn to look beyond what is seen and hold to the truth of God’s Word. This faith is expressed through our words, attitudes, and actions as we remain steadfast, act responsibly, and continue trusting God while we wait.

We will learn more about various aspects of the prayer of faith in the coming days.

Prayer:

Dear Father, I thank You for teaching me to pray with faith and confidence in Your Word. Thank You that my trust in You is not governed by what I see, but is established in Your faithfulness. I declare that I’m steadfast in prayer and I walk by faith each day. In the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.
