And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2)
God never created you to merely exist. He created you to grow, excel, and become everything He has called you to be. One of the greatest enemies of progress is becoming comfortable with mediocrity. When people settle for less than God’s best, they stop developing the gifts and abilities He has placed within them.
This doesn’t mean competing with others or trying to prove your worth. It means refusing to remain where you are when God has prepared greater things for you. Every believer should have a divine desire to improve, learn, grow, and become more effective in God’s Kingdom.
The world often tells people to stay within their limitations. But God teaches us to renew our minds. Transformation begins when you stop seeing yourself according to your experiences and start seeing yourself according to God’s purpose. You may not be able to change your past, but you can certainly change the direction of your future.
Refuse intimidation. Refuse small thinking. Train your abilities, develop your gifts, and allow the Holy Spirit to stretch your vision. The person who continually grows becomes a blessing to many others. God wants you to rise above your environment so that you can influence it for His glory.
Prayer:
Precious Heavenly Father, I thank You because You have called me to grow and excel. Thank You for the gifts, talents, and opportunities You have placed in my life. I refuse mediocrity and embrace Your plan for continual advancement. My mind is renewed by Your Word, and I am becoming all that You have called me to be. Thank You for leading me into greater levels of effectiveness and impact. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
