Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD… (2 Kings 7:1)
There are seasons when waiting upon God is necessary, but there are also seasons when God is waiting upon us. The account of Elisha reminds us that God’s servants are not called merely to observe difficult circumstances but to respond according to His Word. When the situation in Samaria appeared impossible, God’s answer was already available. What was needed was a declaration of faith that aligned with heaven’s purpose.
How often do we postpone what God has already placed within our reach? We wait for better circumstances, greater confidence, or clearer signs when God has already equipped us with everything we need in Christ. What He has called us to do, He has also empowered us to accomplish. We must not live as though we are waiting for God to begin when He has already begun His work within us.
An army does not begin training when war arrives—it trains faithfully beforehand. Likewise, our preparation must be continual. Daily prayer, meditation upon the Word of God, thanksgiving, and faith-filled confessions are not religious exercises; they are preparations for manifestation.
Do not postpone obedience. Do not delay your response to God’s instruction. This is not a season of passively waiting for tomorrow. God is calling His people to arise, to believe His Word, and to manifest His glory today. What you need is already with you because Christ is in you, the hope of glory.
