For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other. (Galatians 5:17 KJV)
One of the greatest battles a believer faces is not against the world but within. The desires of the flesh constantly oppose the leading of the Spirit. If we allow our emotions, feelings, and natural reasoning to control us, they will hinder us from enjoying all that God has prepared for us.
Victory begins when we choose to yield to the Holy Spirit instead of our flesh. Every time we obey God’s Word, we strengthen our spirit and weaken the influence of the flesh. As we continue in fellowship with the Lord, His life becomes increasingly evident in our thoughts, words, and actions.
The good news is that God has not left us to fight this battle alone. The same Spirit who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead lives in us, empowering us to overcome every weakness and walk in obedience. As we depend on Him, we become stronger every day.
Today, choose to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Let His Word guide your decisions and shape your character. As you do, your life will increasingly reflect the nature of Christ.
Prayer
Dear Father, thank You for giving me Your Holy Spirit to strengthen and guide me each day. Thank You that I am not ruled by my flesh but empowered to walk in the Spirit. Your Word is transforming my mind and shaping my character. I thank You that Your life is being revealed in me more and more every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
