But David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. (1 Samuel 30:6)
There are moments in life when circumstances seem overwhelming. David experienced such a time at Ziklag. His city had been destroyed, his family taken captive, and even those closest to him turned against him. Yet David did not remain discouraged. The Bible declares that he strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
Today, you have an even greater advantage. The Holy Spirit no longer comes upon you temporarily—He lives within you. Whenever you feel weary or burdened, turn your attention to Him. Pray in other tongues, meditate on God’s Word and yield yourself to His presence. As you do, the Holy Spirit imparts supernatural strength, courage and fresh vision.
Never depend on outward circumstances to determine your strength. Your source is within you. The Holy Spirit continually supplies the life and power you need to overcome every challenge and move forward in victory.
No matter what you face, strengthen yourself in the Lord. The Holy Spirit will refresh you, restore you and empower you to triumph.
Prayer
Dear Father, I thank You because the Holy Spirit lives in me and is my unfailing source of strength. I refuse discouragement and weariness. As I pray in the Spirit and meditate on Your Word, I am refreshed, restored and empowered to walk in continual victory, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.
