For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

The Christian life is not a life we are expected to live by our own strength. Christ Himself is our life. His divine life is at work in our spirit, soul, and body, and His presence in us makes us more than capable of living the life God has called us to live. We are not empty vessels trying to produce something supernatural; we carry the life of God within us.

The Holy Spirit works in us both to will and to do according to God’s good pleasure. His work is not limited to our spiritual activities. He desires to influence every part of our lives. His life produces strength, peace, excellence, and victory through us.

Because Christ is our life, we can refuse to be dominated by fear and limitation. We can walk in the consciousness of God’s grace and His life within us. We have eternal life—the life of God—and this life causes us to live from a position of victory. We do not have to live intimidated by circumstances because our confidence is in the One who lives in us.

Today, become conscious of the life of Christ in you. Let His life influence the way you think, speak, work, and respond. You are not alone in your journey. The Holy Spirit is working in you mightily, and the life of Christ is being expressed through you every day.

Prayer:

Dear Father, thank You for the life of Christ that is at work in me. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who works in me, strengthens me, and guides me. I am grateful that I live from a position of victory because Christ is my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
