For we walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

The Christian life is a life of faith. This does not mean that we deny reality or pretend that difficulties do not exist. It means that we refuse to allow what we see, hear, feel, or experience in the natural realm to become greater than the truth of God’s Word.

There will be moments when your body says one thing, your circumstances say another, and your emotions tell you something completely different. But your response must be governed by the Word of God. Faith does not ignore the facts; faith refuses to make the facts the final authority.

The Bible gives us examples of people who lived beyond what their natural circumstances seemed to dictate. Elijah operated by the power of God. Elisha demonstrated confidence in God’s supernatural ability. Enoch walked with God and was translated alive. These accounts remind us that the Christian life is not limited to the natural realm. We have received the Holy Spirit, and we have access to the life and power of God.

So don’t make your circumstances your identity. Don’t let your bank account tell you who you are. Don’t let a temporary situation define your future. Don’t let your feelings become your theology. Let the Word of God shape your thinking. As your mind is renewed by the Word, you learn to respond to life from the perspective of faith rather than from the limitations of the senses.

Prayer
Dear Father, I thank You for the life of faith You have given me. Thank You for Your Word, Thank You for the Holy Spirit who strengthens and guides me. I declare that I am not ruled by my feelings, circumstances, or natural limitations. I rejoice because my life is governed by Your truth and empowered by Your Spirit, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
